A multi-year extension brings Scout Command to WKU, giving the department one platform to manage and distribute athlete compensation.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Western Kentucky University Athletics extended their multi-year partnership with Scout, the financial technology company built specifically for athletes, adopting Scout Command to manage the full scope of athlete payments across its programs.

As Name, Image, and Likeness and revenue sharing reshape college athletics, departments are now responsible for moving and accounting for athlete compensation at a scale and complexity they have never faced before. Western Kentucky turned to Scout for a single, end-to-end solution with one platform to handle every type of athlete payment with the transparency and accountability the new era demands.

With Scout Command, WKU gains centralized control over revenue-share distribution, roster limits, and cap accounting, replacing the fragmented, manual processes many departments still rely on. The result is a cleaner, more reliable payment operation and a clear view of every dollar committed to the Hilltoppers’ athletes.

“At WKU, we’ve been partners with Scout for two years — and when I use the term ‘partners,’ I mean it in its truest form,” said Rob Peterson, Deputy Athletic Director, COO and CFO at Western Kentucky University. “Scout didn’t just give us a way to process revenue-share payments to our student-athletes; they worked collaboratively with us to solve payment challenges we’d never been able to overcome through traditional campus processes. Michael, Ken, and the rest of the Scout team always respond the same way: ‘Let us look at it, and we’ll find a way.’ WKU couldn’t ask for a better partner as we navigate the new landscape of payment support for our student-athletes. Scout is always on the cutting edge.”

“Western Kentucky is exactly the kind of program that benefits from treating athlete payments as serious financial infrastructure,” said Michael Haddix Jr., CEO and Founder of Scout. “They wanted an end-to-end solution they could trust, and that’s what Scout Command delivers. We’re proud to partner with the Hilltoppers.”

Through the partnership, Western Kentucky joins a growing roster of athletic departments turning to Scout to run the financial side of college sports, from payments and compliance to long-term athlete support.
