The Problem

Student-athletes at UMass are earning real money — through NIL deals and revenue share — often before anyone has taught them what to do with it. Contracts, taxes, savings, and long-term financial planning aren't things most 18-to-22-year-olds have had to think about, yet the decisions they make now can shape their financial future for years to come.

UMass Athletics recognized this gap and partnered with Scout to give their student-athletes the financial education and support system that traditional compliance offices and one-off seminars couldn't provide.

What We Covered

Scout's engagement with UMass went well beyond a single presentation. Sessions were built around the real financial decisions athletes were already facing, including:
